Crystal Pleating
A simple pleating process can deliver innovative texture with the use of fusible interfacing, a string, a cardboard builder's tube and of course, the fabric that will be used. In a nutshell, the pleating process involves creating a fabric tube and then pulling it face down over a cardboard tube. The fabric is then wrapped with a string sliding the fabric over the string wraps in order to pleat it. The back of the fabric is then fused using an interlacing lock to bring out a pleated texture.
Crystal pleating belongs to one of the series of narrow pleats that ceased in similar directions. It is a pleating technique that can be commonly found in lingerie.
